Hello! I'm Ashley Pizzini, a makeup artist and hairstylist based in Edwardsville, Illinois. With six years in the beauty industry, my journey began in retail, evolved into salon hairstyling, and is now leading me into the exciting world of special effects makeup and theatrical wig making. My passion for art and beauty started at a young age, inspired by my two grandmothers, one a fine artist, the other introducing me to the magic of her beauty supplies.

I began my formal education in 2020 at Paul Mitchell The School St. Louis, where I trained in hair cutting, coloring, styling, airbrush makeup, and acrylic nails. I received my diploma and Missouri/ Illinois cosmetology license. After a year working in a salon, I moved to Toronto, Canada in 2023 to attend the College of Makeup Art and Design, where I completed a double diploma program in makeup and digital design. I learned several disciplines of makeup and hair including period looks, fashion, theatre, film & TV, prosthetics, creature design, and a mix of costume and prop making. During my time there, I had the opportunity to work on several student and indie films, gaining invaluable hands-on experience.

Currently, I’m based in the U.S. as a freelance artist, working on weddings, photoshoots, and events. My goal is to break into the theatre and film industry and join a union, where I can contribute on set or backstage. Currently, I have an internship with Kelly Jordan Theatrical in St. Louis where I am learning from one of the best wig designers in the country. I’m eager to further develop my skills and I’d love the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with other talented artists. Outside of makeup, hair, and nails, I enjoy creating costumes, setting up photoshoots, painting, and digital drawing. I believe my strength lies in combining all of these skills into one cohesive project, and I hope you’ll see that reflected in my portfolio.
